my favorite part of this book is the end of the story when ingamald confronts her mother. the poetic style is amazing and i can't wait for the second one to be released!

Although Ingamald is set in an imaginary preindustrial world, it's heroine is remarkably modern. This fiesty young is resourceful, intelligent and independent, and Sobat manages to resist the conventional romantic narrative that insists on a love interest (ie. male validation). The style is beautifully poetic, musical in both voice and spirit, the plot is engaging, and the ending is one of the best encountered in the genre. A great read for all ages.
